According to OPP, the driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol and in possession of suspected drugs. The driver, a 34-year-old from Windsor, faces charges including impaired driving, possession of a controlled substance, and driving while disqualified.

Details of the stop

The traffic stop took place around 11 p.m. on County Road 20 near Harrow. Officers observed the vehicle swerving and initiated a stop. Upon approaching the driver, they detected an odour of alcohol and observed signs of impairment. A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered a quantity of suspected cocaine and methamphetamine.

The driver was arrested and taken to the OPP detachment in Leamington for further testing. He has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in a Windsor court on August 10, 2026.
