I recently drove by the Gordie Howe International Bridge. It is simply stunning, especially when viewed at night, with the sky aglow from its presence.
A New Gateway for Windsor
This bridge truly makes Windsor the "Gateway to Canada," as it is the southernmost connection between Ontario's Highway 401 and Michigan's Interstate 75. It will propel this area into a new renaissance, reducing Detroit and Windsor's dependence on the auto industry for economic growth.
Limitless Potential
The $6.4 billion bridge offers limitless potential, accommodating vehicular traffic as well as pedestrians and cyclists. It will help industries save financially while improving just-in-time efficiencies. The glow of the bridge's lights against the night sky is expected to encourage tourism, drawing visitors to admire the sight and explore other attractions in Essex County.
Direct Highway Connection
With the ribbon-cutting ceremony this Friday, this direct connection of two major highways at the Detroit-Windsor border is exciting. It will encourage industries from far and wide to move to the area and boost Windsor's tourist business.
