GO Transit, TTC Weekend Service Disruptions Announced

Several disruptions are scheduled this weekend across GO Transit and TTC services, affecting commuters in the Greater Toronto Area. The changes, announced on Friday, June 5, 2026, will impact travel on both Saturday and Sunday.

GO Transit Line Closures

GO Transit will be performing track maintenance on the Lakeshore East line between Pickering and Union Station. Buses will replace trains on this segment from 11:00 p.m. on Saturday until the end of service on Sunday. Riders should expect additional travel time of up to 30 minutes.

The Stouffville line will also see bus replacements between Union Station and Mount Joy station due to construction work. This change is in effect all day Saturday and Sunday.

TTC Subway Closures

The TTC has announced a full closure of Line 1 (Yonge-University) between Sheppard-West and St. George stations for signal upgrades. Shuttle buses will operate along the affected route. The closure runs from 11:00 p.m. on Saturday until 8:00 a.m. on Sunday.

Additionally, Line 2 (Bloor-Danforth) will have no service between Jane and Ossington stations for track work. Shuttle buses will replace trains from 11:00 p.m. on Saturday until the end of service on Sunday.

Streetcar Detours

The 501 Queen streetcar will be detoured due to construction at Queen and Spadina. Buses will replace streetcars between Spadina Avenue and McCaul Street from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Commuters are advised to check the TTC and GO Transit websites for detailed schedules and alternative routes. Delays are expected throughout the weekend.
