A 62-year-old man is in hospital and another man has died following a serious collision between a pickup truck and a semi-truck west of Edmonton on Monday morning. The incident occurred near Township Road 524 and Highway 770, as reported by Parkland RCMP in a news release issued Tuesday.
Details of the Crash
RCMP officers responded to the scene at approximately 11:04 a.m. on Monday after receiving reports of a fatal vehicle collision. The semi-truck was traveling southbound while the pickup truck was heading northbound when the two vehicles collided. Both vehicles subsequently caught fire after the impact.

The driver of the semi-truck, a 62-year-old man, managed to exit his vehicle and was transported to a hospital for medical treatment. The driver of the pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased pending notification of next of kin.
