Shannon Keast of Morinville, Alberta, became the province's newest millionaire after winning $5 million from Lotto 6/49 on May 27. The winning ticket was purchased at the Mobil gas station on 100 Street in Morinville.

Life-Changing Moment at the Kiosk

Keast described the moment she discovered her win: "When I scanned it in store, I didn't realize I had won it right away, I just heard the sound. I was trying to FaceTime my husband and I was shaking and crying!" The winning numbers were 5, 27, 35, 38, 44, and 46.

The excitement quickly spread through the Keast family. "We are both just so excited," she said. "It feels so surreal and overwhelming. One of the best days of our lives!"
