Just over a month after opening its first Calgary location at Chinook Centre, Shake Shack Canada has announced plans to open a drive-thru on Macleod Trail South. The new location will be the company's first drive-thru in Canada.
Expansion in Calgary
Shake Shack opened its inaugural Western Canada outlet in Chinook Mall on May 11, attracting long line-ups. Now, the company—owned by two Canadian-based private investment firms—is expanding with a second Calgary location. The drive-thru-only restaurant will be situated near recently opened American fast food chains Krispy Kreme and Chick-fil-A.
Why Calgary?
“Calgary was the clear choice for our first drive-thru location in Canada,” said Billy Richmond, Business Director of Shake Shack Canada. “It’s a city where driving is a part of everyday life, and we wanted to create a Shack experience that offers guests greater convenience year-round.”
Local Menu Offerings
The Calgary branch features specialized menu items, including a beer from Minhas Brewing, a mojito from Burwood Distillery, a Saskatoon berry custard, and a custard ice cream with salted honey pie from Pie Junkie, alongside its regular burgers and fries.
