Spring has arrived in Edmonton's southwest as Brookfield Residential officially launches WestView at Chappelle Gardens, a new subdivision that promises to bring higher-end homes to the Heritage Valley sector. The grand opening event is scheduled for May 2.
Location and Setting
WestView at Chappelle Gardens is situated next to Frieda Hiller Park in Chappelle West, offering a serene environment with proximity to nature. The community is nestled between the existing park and the future Top of Bank park, which will overlook the Whitemud Creek Ravine. This thoughtfully planned enclave is designed to provide an elevated living experience within the established Chappelle Gardens neighborhood.
Housing Options and Builders
The new community will feature move-up and estate homes, with a total of 261 residences upon completion. Builders involved in the project include Akash Homes, Five Star Homes, Kimberley Homes, Parkwood Homes, and Sterling Homes. Pricing for move-up homes starts in the $500,000 range. Hillview Master Builder is expected to join the roster later this year.
According to Mike Kohl, senior vice-president of Alberta Communities at Brookfield Residential, WestView represents the next evolution of premium residential development in southwest Edmonton. He noted that many young families and first-time buyers who initially moved into the area are now ready to upgrade but have had limited options close to home. WestView aims to provide these residents with the opportunity to stay and grow, while introducing estate living, including homes backing onto the Whitemud Creek Ravine.
Amenities and Infrastructure
Residents of WestView will have full access to Chappelle Gardens' established amenities, including the Social House, a 6,600-square-foot facility that offers exclusive programming and events. The area already boasts schools, daycare services, medical offices, and retail offerings such as grocery stores. The Anthony Henday is a short distance away, and more extensive retail, dining, and services can be found about 10 minutes away at Currents of Windermere.
Infrastructure improvements are also underway. The bridge construction on Ellerslie Road at 141st Street S.W. is being widened, with substantial completion expected before year-end. This will provide two eastbound and westbound lanes extending to the Ambleside Eco Station. Additional road twinning from the eco station to Rabbit Hill Road is projected for 2027.
Grand Opening Event
The grand opening of WestView at Chappelle Gardens will take place on Saturday, May 2, from 1 to 4 p.m. Titled "Postcards from Paris," the event is designed as an elevated experience inspired by the charm and ease of a spring day in Paris. Guests are invited to tour four show homes from Akash, Five Star, Parkwood, and Sterling while enjoying live music, fresh florals, coffee, and sweet treats. The come-and-go format allows attendees to explore and experience life in WestView at their own pace.
