Saskatoon Builders Honored for Excellence at Annual Housing Awards Gala

The Saskatoon & Region Home Builders' Association (SRHBA) celebrated a remarkable year of achievement at its 34th annual Housing Excellence Awards, held Saturday at Prairieland Park. The gala event, themed "night at the races," recognized innovation, craftsmanship, and community leadership across Saskatoon's residential construction industry.

Decades of Professional Excellence

Since its founding in 1955, the SRHBA has maintained an unwavering commitment to elevating professionalism within the homebuilding sector. Through comprehensive education programs, rigorous certification standards, industry advocacy, and networking opportunities, the association continues to uphold the highest benchmarks for its members.

"The awards showcase the excellence of housing in Saskatoon and the professionalism of our member builders," said Kimberly Evans, SRHBA events coordinator. "It's an opportunity to celebrate what's happening in new homes, renovations, industry development, marketing, and sustainability."

Record-Breaking Recognition

A total of 51 awards were presented across seven distinct categories, marking a new record for the prestigious program. The categories included:

  • Industry Development
  • Marketing Excellence
  • Renovation Projects
  • Best New Home Spaces
  • Net Zero Home Initiatives
  • New Home and Multi-Family Housing
  • Association Awards

The competition attracted more than 200 submissions, which were carefully evaluated by an independent panel of 25 judges from diverse business sectors across Canada. "It's a big process to go through all of the categories and review the submissions," Evans noted. "There was a lot to judge, and they really did their due diligence."

Top Honors and Special Recognition

Conrad Ehr, president of Ehrenburg Homes, received the Certified Professional Home Builder of the Year award from Nicole Burgess, CEO of the SRHBA. This marked the second consecutive year that Ehrenburg Homes has been named Builder of the Year.

Three builders earned Customer Choice awards based on direct feedback from home buyers: Hometown Homes, Lexis Homes, and North Ridge Development Corporation. These awards specifically recognize builders who consistently deliver exceptional customer experiences and satisfaction throughout the homebuying process.

Design Excellence Across Categories

The Best New Home Spaces awards highlighted exceptional room-by-room design achievements:

  1. Edgewater Homes captured two awards for Best New Home Kitchen and Best Secondary Suite
  2. Mavrik Home Builders won for Best Bathroom and Best Primary Suite
  3. Warman Homes earned Best Interior Decorating of a Show Home

Multiple builders were recognized for outstanding production homes across various size ranges, including North Prairie Developments, Ehrenburg Homes, Edgewater Homes, Pacesetter Homes, North Ridge Development Corporation, and Bella Vista Developments.

Celebrating Industry Achievement

The gala evening featured entertainment by the Mini Fridge Theatre Company, which presented interactive derby-themed skits between award presentations. Rock 102 broadcasters Whitney Graves and Sully Sullivan served as emcees for the event, which drew a full house of industry professionals and supporters.

The Housing Excellence Awards continue to serve as a cornerstone event for Saskatoon's construction industry, highlighting the ongoing commitment to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction that has defined the region's homebuilding sector for nearly seven decades.
