A Kitchener man is celebrating after winning a $1 million lottery prize from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG). Melvin C. claimed the top prize in the Gold Ball Draw, a feature of OLG's Lotto Max game. He purchased his winning ticket at a local retail store in Kitchener.

Melvin, a long-time lottery player, said he was shocked when he checked his ticket and realized he had won. 'I had to look at it several times to make sure it was real,' he said. 'It still hasn't sunk in.' He plans to use the winnings to invest and help his family.
Gold Ball Draw Details
The Gold Ball Draw is a bonus feature that gives players a chance to win a guaranteed $1 million prize. The draw takes place when the Lotto Max jackpot reaches $50 million or more. Winners are selected from among those who have purchased a Lotto Max ticket with the Gold Ball Draw option.
Melvin collected his cheque at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto. He is the latest in a string of Ontario lottery winners. OLG encourages all players to sign the back of their tickets immediately after purchase to protect their prize.
