Georgie Awards 2026: Circus Gala Honors BC Builders

The Canadian Home Builders' Association of BC (CHBA BC) hosted a spectacular circus-themed gala for the 2026 Georgie Awards on May 23 at the Hyatt Regency Vancouver. The event, titled 'The Greatest Showman on Earth,' brought together the top professionals in the housing industry for a night of celebration and recognition.

52 Categories Honored

As the 34th annual Georgie Awards concluded, winners across 52 categories were recognized for excellence in home building, renovation, design, and marketing. Among the standout winners was Lincoln Construction's The Nest, an off-grid retreat on Keats Island off the Sunshine Coast.

The Nest: A Custom Home Winner

Lincoln Construction's The Nest won Best Custom Home ($1 million to $1.5 million) at both the Georgie and HAVAN awards. The three-level, 1,063-square-foot home features cedar cladding, black steel, and a modern roofline that blends with the surrounding forest and ocean views. Designed by Daria Sheina Studio, the home maximizes every square foot with a warm, efficient layout. It is powered by solar energy with battery storage, vaulted ceilings, and clerestory windows.

Erik Lincoln, CEO and founder of Lincoln Construction, said: 'The uniqueness is both in the intricate architectural elements, and in the owners' vision and esthetics for a one-of-a-kind, picturesque cabin.'

The Oakhaven: Top Single-Family Home

Another top winner was Kelowna's 3rd Generation Homes Ltd., in partnership with Su Casa Design, which won Best Single-Family Detached Home over 2,500 sq. ft. and Best Indoor Design Display Suite over $100,000 for The Oakhaven in West Kelowna. The 3,786-square-foot contemporary farmhouse rancher features four bedrooms, timeless stone detailing, and European-inspired curved archways. The highlight is a wet bar with brick-inspired brown-black tile and gold accents.

Gerald deVeer, president of 3rd Generation Homes, praised the collaboration with Andy Friesen, principal designer at Su Casa. Friesen explained that the design balanced transitional esthetic with a relaxed SoCal-inspired style, creating spaces that feel timeless and tailored to modern living. 'All of the main areas of the house were intentionally placed along the back of the house to capture the best part of the property, which is the view,' Friesen said.
