Durham Regional Police are actively searching for two suspects following a break-in at a jewelry store in Pickering that occurred last summer. The incident took place at an Oliver’s Jewellery location situated at 1050 Brock Road.
According to authorities, two men dressed entirely in black forced their way into the store during the early hours of August 8, 2025. Once inside, they stole multiple items before fleeing the scene in a waiting gray-silver SUV. Police are urging anyone with information, including cellphone, dash cam, or surveillance footage, to contact them at 1-888-579-1520 extension 1905.
Major Drug Bust in Hamilton
In a separate case, two Hamilton men have been charged following a significant drug investigation in the city’s east end. Hamilton Police reported that they seized over four kilograms of methamphetamine, along with oxycodone and hydromorphone pills, and approximately $5,000 in cash from a residence on Queenston Road.
The accused, identified as Kayla Kerwin, 34, and Brandon Quinn, 34, both from Hamilton, face multiple charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000. Vehicle Ownership Fraud Arrest
In a related development, Durham Regional Police have arrested a man accused of attempting to fraudulently transfer vehicle ownerships in Whitby. The incident occurred on the afternoon of May 28, when a man arrived at the Service Ontario office located at 1615 Dundas Street East and attempted to register several vehicles that were not in his name to a third party. Police noted that the man had previously conducted transactions deemed fraudulent.
Officers arrived at the scene and took the suspect into custody. Menis Mihalaiche, 52, of Toronto, now faces two counts each of fraud over $5,000, uttering forged documents, and attempted fraud over $5,000. He was released on an undertaking.
