Westhaven Gold Announces Final 2025 Drilling Results from Shovelnose Gold Project in British Columbia

VANCOUVER, British Columbia – Westhaven Gold Corp. (TSX-V: WHN) has released the final results from its 2025 drilling program at the Shovelnose Gold Project, located within the Spences Bridge Gold Belt in southern British Columbia. The company reported significant assay results from five drill holes, highlighting continued exploration success and setting the stage for an ambitious 2026 program.

High-Grade Intercepts at South Zone Deposit

The most notable results came from drill hole SN25-442 at the South Zone deposit, which returned 70.79 meters grading 1.13 grams per tonne gold and 14.1 grams per tonne silver. Within this broader interval, a particularly high-grade section of 8.05 meters assayed 6.18 grams per tonne gold and 89.7 grams per tonne silver, demonstrating the continued potential for rich mineralization at the property.

Exploration Success Beyond Established Deposits

Westhaven's 2025 program also identified promising new structural zones that could host additional gold-bearing epithermal veins. Drill holes SN25-440 and SN25-441 revealed new northwest-trending structural zones north and northeast of the South Zone deposit. SN25-441 intersected a 36-meter zone characterized by a distinctive breccia unit containing broken fragments of quartz veins with strong adularia alteration, similar to mineralization patterns associated with the South Zone deposit.

Exploration drilling approximately 3 kilometers west of the South Zone also yielded encouraging results. Drill holes SN25-438 and SN25-439 encountered silicification and elevated gold and pathfinder elements, with SN25-439 returning 0.32 grams per tonne gold over 1.7 meters.

2025 Drilling Program Overview

Westhaven's 2025 drilling at Shovelnose consisted of 17 holes totaling 8,206 meters:

  • Winter drilling (4 holes, 2,004 meters) targeted the Certes area in the southeast portion of the property
  • Summer drilling (13 holes, 6,202 meters) focused on elevated pathfinder element geochemistry, clay alteration, and compelling geophysical and structural features within several kilometers of established deposits
  • Two summer drill holes provided infill sample data and geotechnical information to support advancing the project toward pre-feasibility

Looking Ahead to 2026 Drilling Program

Planning is well underway for a substantial 2026 drilling program that will include up to four drills. The program is expected to focus on:

  1. Dedicated infill drilling of the South Zone deposit
  2. Exploration drilling targeting new gold mineralization across the property

The 2026 drilling is scheduled to begin in mid-February and will be funded through the recently announced CDN$85 million Earn-in Agreement with Dundee Corporation.

Management Commentary

Ken Armstrong, President & CEO of Westhaven, commented on the results: "Westhaven's final 2025 drill results reinforce the value of a systematic approach to exploration at the Shovelnose Gold Project. This year's program has significantly advanced our understanding of the structural and geochemical controls on gold mineralization, outlining several new areas with strong potential to host epithermal veining and associated gold mineralization beyond the established South Zone, FMN, and Franz deposits."

Armstrong added: "Backed by the combined expertise and financial strength of our technical team and our strategic partner, Dundee Corporation, these results lay a strong foundation for the next phase of accelerated growth and discovery at Shovelnose and across the district-scale Spences Bridge Gold Belt."

The Shovelnose Gold Project represents a significant exploration opportunity within British Columbia's prolific Spences Bridge Gold Belt, with Westhaven continuing to demonstrate the property's potential through methodical exploration and strategic partnerships.
