VANCOUVER, British Columbia – Sable Resources Ltd. has announced a significant mineral discovery at its Zorro Project in San Juan Province, Argentina. The company has identified a new copper-mineralized zone named Zorro North, located approximately 1.5 kilometers northwest of the previously defined Zorro Cu target.
Discovery Details and Geological Context
The newly discovered Zorro North target represents a substantial expansion of the mineralized footprint within the Zorro Project area. Chip sampling conducted in outcrop has returned impressive values, including up to 1.36% copper, 12.7 grams per tonne silver, and 0.13 grams per tonne gold.
Geological Characteristics
Mineralization at Zorro North consists of finely disseminated chalcopyrite hosted within Permian granite, with the copper appearing broadly distributed within a granitic cupola. Importantly, this mineralization is not vein-controlled, and no strong structural control has yet been identified, suggesting a potentially extensive mineralized system.
The mineralized granite is exposed beneath partially eroded Quaternary gravels and is interpreted to form part of a large cupola zone extending for more than two square kilometers. Surface mapping and sampling have outlined exposed mineralization over an area measuring at least 700 meters by 550 meters, with the zone remaining open to the east, north, and south.
Sampling Results and Project Significance
Of the 19 samples collected at Zorro North, 13 returned values greater than 0.1% copper, with consistent silver values and sporadic gold mineralization. This discovery builds upon previously released results from the Zorro Cu and Zorro Veins targets, which returned values up to 4.38% copper, 140 grams per tonne gold, and 584 grams per tonne silver.
Dr. Ruben Padilla, President and CEO of Sable Resources, commented on the significance of the discovery: "Initial rock sampling at Zorro North reveals another large-scale, strong, and at-surface copper anomaly in a cupola-type setting. This represents a significant expansion of the mineralized footprint outlined at Zorro Cu and within the overall project area."
Exploration Advantages and Future Plans
The Zorro Project benefits from excellent access and infrastructure, as well as a lower elevation that enables year-round exploration work. According to Dr. Padilla, the property demonstrates broader copper potential with multiple mineralization styles already identified, including intrusion-related copper mineralization, hydrothermal breccias, and polymetallic high-grade gold-silver veins.
Sable geologists are currently increasing sample density and expanding map coverage to better define the limits and continuity of mineralization at Zorro North. The company continues to advance Zorro as an internally generated, high-priority project with the objective of rapidly defining drill targets for future exploration phases.
This discovery highlights the ongoing potential for significant mineral finds in established mining regions and demonstrates Sable Resources' commitment to systematic exploration methodology in Argentina's San Juan Province.
