Opus One Gold Corp Resumes Drilling Operations at Noyell Gold Project in Quebec
MONTREAL – Opus One Gold Corp, trading under the symbol TSX-V: OOR, has officially announced the mobilization of two drill rigs at its fully owned Noyell gold project. This significant development is situated within the prolific Abitibi mining district, near the established mining town of Matagami in Quebec, Canada. The company has indicated that a third drill rig may be deployed in February if required to fulfill the program's objectives.
Expanding on 2025 Success with Ambitious Drilling Plans
The current drilling initiative builds upon the highly successful 2025 program that focused on the Zone 1 gold discovery. The diamond drilling campaign is structured to include approximately 26 holes, accumulating to around 14,000 meters of core. This extensive effort aims to infill and extend Zone 1 in all directions, as detailed in longitudinal sections and maps provided by the company.
In addition to expanding Zone 1, Opus One will investigate a new target area in the western portion of the property. Historical drill records from the 1980s and 1990s, documented by previous operators, reported significant gold findings in this region.
New Target Area and Geological Connections
The newly identified target is located approximately 3 kilometers west of Zone 1 and aligns with the eastern extension of substantial gold mineralization currently being delineated by drilling on the adjacent N2 Project, managed by Formation Metals, formerly known as Wallbridge. The N2 project already boasts a considerable historical gold resource, with a major drilling program underway as of December 2025.
Opus One's geological interpretation suggests that the gold mineralization observed in the western section of the property corresponds to the same gold-bearing structure that hosts Zone 1 in the central area. A total of five shallow holes will be drilled on this target, marking the first exploration efforts by Opus One in this specific portion of the property.
CEO Commentary and Future Outlook
Louis Morin, CEO of Opus One, expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming drill program. "We are very enthusiastic about our upcoming new drill program," Morin stated. "In 2025, Opus One completed 9,000 meters of successful drilling on its Zone 1 discovery, carried out a bio-geochemical sampling survey around Zone 1, and conducted a laser-induced breakdown spectrometry study on mineralized core to characterize the gold-bearing horizon and host units."
Morin further highlighted the company's strategic direction: "Additionally, Opus One is developing new quality gold targets on the property. The company is therefore expanding its main mineralized zone, initiating the mineralogical characterization of its gold-bearing structure, and gearing up for new discoveries along the same favorable structure and, hopefully, along parallel ones. No doubt 2026 will be another exciting year for the company."
