NexGold Commences Extensive 30,000-Meter Infill Drill Program at Goldboro Gold Project in Nova Scotia
TORONTO, March 25, 2026 — NexGold Mining Corp. (TSXV: NEXG; OTCQX: NXGCF) has officially launched a significant Reverse Circulation infill drill program at its Goldboro Gold Project located in Nova Scotia. This ambitious drilling initiative, encompassing up to 30,000 meters, is strategically focused on the Goldboro Deposit with the primary objective of infilling specific sections of the mineral resource at a nominal spacing of 12.5 meters and reaching depths of 50 meters.
Program Targets Early Production Zones for Resource Upgrade
The high-density drill program is concentrated on areas slated for the initial years of planned production at the Goldboro Project, currently accessible by drill rigs. By employing Reverse Circulation drilling techniques, NexGold aims to gather a detailed data set that could facilitate the upgrade of Mineral Resources from the Indicated to the Measured category. This method closely mimics production drilling and associated dilution, providing more accurate geological information.
This new data will be integrated with over 180,000 meters of existing diamond drill data from the deposit, which includes information supporting the 2021 Goldboro Mineral Resource and Mineral Reserves. These reserves were detailed in the company's technical report, the "NI 43-101 Technical Report and Feasibility Study for the Goldboro Gold Project, Eastern Goldfields District, Nova Scotia," with an effective date of December 16, 2021, and a report date of January 11, 2022.
Leadership Comments on Strategic Advancements
Kevin Bullock, President and CEO of NexGold, emphasized the importance of this drill program in advancing and de-risking the Goldboro Project as the company approaches a critical investment decision later this year. "The recently launched 30,000-meter infill drill program focuses primarily on areas of the Mineral Resource that are expected to be mined in the early years of production," Bullock stated. "It is intended to support the refinement of the Mineral Resource model following the update to the Feasibility Study, adding greater certainty and confidence in the Mineral Resource."
Comprehensive Project Activities for 2026
The infill drill program represents just one component of NexGold's broader value-adding activities planned for the Goldboro Project in 2026. Other key initiatives include:
- An update to the Feasibility Study incorporating additional drill data collected in 2025, which comprises 328 holes and 58,008 meters gathered since September 2021.
- Revised operating and capital cost assumptions to reflect current economic conditions.
- Adjustments based on changes in gold prices since the completion of the original Feasibility Study in 2021.
Additionally, NexGold is progressing with technical, environmental, engineering, and permitting activities. The company remains committed to ongoing engagement with local communities and the Mi’kmaw of Nova Scotia, aiming to establish a foundation for the long-term success and sustainability of the Goldboro Project.
This concerted effort underscores NexGold's dedication to optimizing resource confidence and operational planning as it moves closer to production decisions at one of Nova Scotia's prominent gold projects.
