Liberty Gold Corp. (TSX: LGD; OTCQX: LGDTF) has unveiled the conclusive drill results from its extensive 2025 exploration campaign at the Black Pine Gold Project located in Idaho. The company reported findings from the remaining 56 drill holes, culminating a program that spanned 39,896 meters across 200 holes, completed in late December 2025.
Key Drill Highlights and Resource Expansion
The drilling efforts yielded impressive gold intercepts, underscoring the project's potential. Notable results include 11.04 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold over 19.8 meters in hole LBP1247, with a higher-grade section of 5.28 g/t Au over 3.0 meters. Additionally, hole LBP1249 returned 0.68 g/t Au over 41.1 meters, including 1.47 g/t Au over 4.6 meters. These findings contributed to a 25% increase in indicated gold ounces at the Rangefront deposit compared to the 2024 Preliminary Feasibility resource, as detailed in an October 2024 press release.
Exploration Success and Future Plans
Peter Shabestari, Vice President of Exploration at Liberty Gold, expressed satisfaction with the program's outcomes. "The 2025 drill program was a success by all metrics," he stated. "We executed all planned activities safely and on schedule, with Rangefront showing substantial growth and Discovery revealing new high-grade zones for follow-up in 2026." The 2025 drilling aimed to support ongoing feasibility studies, mine planning, permitting, and resource enhancement.
The comprehensive drilling activities included:
- Core drilling for geotechnical and metallurgical purposes in Rangefront.
- Sonic drilling in historic heap leach and waste dumps for grade estimation.
- Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling for hydrologic and geotechnical characterization.
- RC drilling for resource infill and offset in key areas like Rangefront, CD Pit, and Discovery.
Timing and Resource Updates
Due to assay lab delays, the most recent resource study from February 2026 did not incorporate results from 90 infill and exploration holes. Liberty Gold anticipates that these holes, along with additional drilling planned for 2026, will be included in a resource update expected in 2027. The deposit areas remain open for expansion to the north, east, and west, offering further exploration opportunities.
Upcoming Drilling Initiatives
Drilling is set to resume at Black Pine in late April 2026, with plans for approximately 14,000 meters of drilling. This will include 5,000 meters dedicated to exploration and resource class upgrades, focusing on Rangefront expansion, M Zone north, and Upper Burnt Basin. Additional drilling may be conducted based on results and budget availability, highlighting the company's commitment to advancing the project.
