Leviathan Metals Uncovers Promising Mineralization in Bosnia and Herzegovina Trenching Program
VANCOUVER, British Columbia – Leviathan Metals Corp. has released encouraging results from its 2025 mechanical trenching program at the Vrela-Kremin trend within the Marevo license area of the company's Foča Project in Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The exploration work has revealed significant high-grade zinc, lead and silver mineralization across substantial widths, marking an important step forward for the developing project.
Impressive Trenching Results Demonstrate Mineral Potential
The trenching program, completed using a lightweight rubber-tracked excavator to an average bedrock depth of approximately 0.7 meters, collected 1,298 samples from 2,215 meters of trenches. Among the most notable findings were:
- 14 meters at 7.78% zinc equivalent (ZnEq) within a broader interval of 27 meters at 4.63% ZnEq from trench T25MAR04
- 12 meters at 8.92% ZnEq within a broader interval of 29 meters at 4.67% ZnEq from trench T25MAR11
- Additional high-grade intervals including 2 meters at 9.47% ZnEq and 1 meter at 11.55% ZnEq from other trenches
These results demonstrate consistent mineralization across the surveyed area, with zinc equivalent percentages incorporating the value of zinc, lead and silver content.
Strategic Exploration Along Established Trend
The trenching was strategically targeted based on multiple geological indicators, including high-grade rock-chip samples previously collected by Leviathan's geological team, surface gossanous breccia occurrences, and zinc-lead anomalism identified through property-wide reconnaissance and follow-up soil surveys. This surface anomalism extends over a strike length of approximately 2.6 kilometers along what is known as the Vrela-Kremin trend.
The mineralization appears to be associated with an ENE-trending fault system, with the western end marked by historic Yugoslav diamond drilling from 1967 that reported an average mineralized thickness of 15 meters at 13.25% lead plus zinc across three holes. Leviathan's current results build upon this historical data, confirming the continuity and quality of mineralization along this structural corridor.
Setting the Stage for Future Drilling Campaign
These promising trenching results establish a solid foundation for the next phase of exploration at the Foča Project. The company has indicated that this work sets the stage for drilling planned during the 2026 exploration season. The systematic approach of progressing from surface sampling to trenching and ultimately to drilling represents a methodical exploration strategy designed to maximize discovery potential while managing technical risk.
The mineralization style and geological setting at Vrela-Kremin show similarities to established mining operations in the region, including the Rupice mine operated by Dundee Precious Metals approximately 100 kilometers to the northwest, which is hosted in stratigraphy of similar age and character.
Leviathan Metals, trading under symbols LVX on the TSX Venture Exchange, LVXFF on the OTC market, and 0GP on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, continues to advance its exploration portfolio with these results from Bosnia and Herzegovina representing a significant milestone in the company's development timeline.
