West Red Lake Gold Announces High-Grade Gold Intercepts at Madsen Mine
West Red Lake Gold Mines Ltd. has reported significant drill results from its fully owned Madsen Mine, located in the Red Lake Gold District of Northwestern Ontario, Canada. The findings from the Austin 904 Complex reveal high-grade gold mineralization, with notable intercepts including 219.73 grams per tonne gold over 4.8 meters, 148.36 g/t Au over 3 meters, and 133.13 g/t Au over 2.5 meters. These results underscore the potential for substantial gold deposits in this area.
CEO Comments on Drilling Success
Shane Williams, President and CEO of West Red Lake Gold, expressed enthusiasm about the ongoing drilling efforts. "The underground drills at Madsen continue to deliver impressive results from the 904 Complex in lower Austin, unlocking significant upside at depth," he stated. Williams compared the 904 Complex to the 4447 area in South Austin, where previous drilling in 2025 uncovered high-grade gold lenses that are now integral to the 2026 mine plan. The company aims to define the 904 area further in 2026 for potential mine design and production by early 2027.
Williams highlighted that the lower Austin 904 Complex, spanning a 200 by 200 meter panel, has seen minimal historical mining, leaving the main mineralized zone largely intact. This is expected to facilitate larger stopes and more efficient development and extraction from this high-grade region. "The results received to date in 904 are highly encouraging, and we look forward to advancing the drills deeper in this priority area of the mine," he added.
Detailed Drill Results and Historical Context
The recent results from the Austin 904 Complex and South Austin were drilled from stations on the 13 Level of the Madsen Mine at approximately 650 meters depth. This update builds on earlier announcements, including results from November 4, 2025, which featured 26.16 g/t Au over 11.2 meters, 37.87 g/t Au over 3.55 meters, and 10.55 g/t Au over 8 meters. Additional highlights from October 9, 2025, included 139.45 g/t Au over 7.8 meters, 74.70 g/t Au over 8.7 meters, and 18.31 g/t Au over 7.5 meters, while April 1, 2025, results showed 23.81 g/t Au over 5.4 meters, 30.16 g/t Au over 4.3 meters, and 12.43 g/t Au over 10.5 meters.
The drilling success in the lower Austin 904 Complex indicates the potential for discovering additional high-grade gold lenses in the main Austin Zone, similar to those delineated in the South Austin zone during the 2025 campaign. The company anticipates that the lower Austin area will remain a primary focus for drilling throughout the remainder of 2026.
Key Highlights from the Austin 904 Complex
- Hole MM26D-13-4950-008: Intersected 4.75 meters at 219.73 g/t Au, from 80.25 to 85.00 meters, including 1 meter at 1,016.57 g/t Au from 83 to 84 meters. This intercept was complemented by visible gold associated with quartz veining and strong silicification.
- Hole MM25D-13-4773-002: Intersected 3 meters at 148.36 g/t Au, from 92 to 95 meters, including 2 meters at 222.26 g/t Au from 93 to 95 meters, with multiple occurrences of visible gold.
- Hole MM26D-13-4950-012: Intersected 2.5 meters at 133.13 g/t Au, from 99.5 to 102.0 meters, including 1.3 meters at 155.66 g/t Au from 100.0 to 101.3 meters.
- Hole MM25D-13-4880-004: Intersected 5 meters at 36.06 g/t Au, from 101 to 106 meters, including 1.8 meters at 92.56 g/t Au from 103.2 to 105.0 meters.
- Hole MM25D-13-4773-016: Intersected 3.15 meters at 41.90 g/t Au, from 83.30 to 86.45 meters, including 0.75 meters at 171.96 g/t Au from 85.70 to 86.45 meters.
These results demonstrate the ongoing exploration success at the Madsen Mine, reinforcing West Red Lake Gold's position in the Red Lake Gold District and highlighting the potential for future gold production from the Austin 904 Complex.
