Goliath has announced impressive drilling results from its Surebet Discovery in the Golden Triangle of British Columbia, reporting numerous high-grade intercepts including a standout 24.16 grams per tonne gold equivalent over 7.00 meters. Accounting for silver, copper, lead, and zinc across 56 drill hole results, the company notes an average 19.6% increase in overall grade values compared to previously announced gold-only assays. This polymetallic contribution boosts the average grade by 16.5% across all 110 drill holes completed during the 2025 season, underscoring the site's rich mineralization.
Expanding a Vast Stacked Vein System
Extensive drilling efforts have significantly expanded the modelled stacked vein system at Surebet. Over 92,000 meters of drilling from 2021 to 2024 laid the groundwork, with the 2025 season alone adding more than 64,000 meters, bringing the total to over 156,000 meters drilled to date. This expansion demonstrates the continuity of the high-grade gold system and highlights untapped potential for future exploration in 2026 and beyond. The system remains open, indicating ample room for further growth.
Expert Insights on Discovery Progress
Dr. Quinton Hennigh, Geologic & Technical Advisor to Crescat Capital, a strategic investor in Goliath, commented on the achievements. "The 2025 drill campaign successfully met its objectives of expanding the known lode system and defining high-grade mineralization areas," he stated. "The current model is significantly larger than last year's, with clearer high-grade regions. The system continues to show considerable opportunity for expansion, mirroring the trajectory of successful discoveries that improve over time."
Metallurgical Testing Yields Strong Recoveries
Metallurgical testing on composite core samples has yielded notable recoveries: 92.2% for gold, 86.5% for silver, 94.2% for lead, and 96.9% for zinc. Using simple and cost-effective gravity methods alone, without cyanide leaching, recoveries reached 48.8% for gold and 10.3% for silver with a crush size of 327 micrometers. The rock composition is benign, free from deleterious elements, as confirmed in a March 2023 news release.
Visible Gold and Mineralization Continuity
Of the holes drilled in the 2025 campaign, 83 out of 110 (76%) contained visible gold to the naked eye. Overall, 355 out of 386 drill holes (92%) drilled to date at Surebet show visible gold. Importantly, 100% of drill holes have intersected gold mineralization, demonstrating desirable continuity, grades, and widths. This includes over 1,500 pierce points within five main gold-rich zones comprising 46 mineralized lodes, all open for expansion.
High-Grade Gold in Multiple Rock Packages
High-grade gold has been identified in three distinct rock packages at Surebet:
- Gently dipping gold-rich stacked quartz-sulphide breccias and stockwork veins.
- Gold-rich intermediate to felsic Eocene-aged dykes.
- Recently discovered broad gold-rich zones of calc-silicate altered breccia.
All mineralized rock types contain substantial visible gold, from fine-grained to coarse-grained, and remain open for expansion. This confirms the presence of a nearby Motherlode magmatic source, a causative intrusion responsible for the extensive 1.8 square kilometer high-grade gold system.
Drill Highlights and Future Plans
Key drill intercepts from the 2025 season include:
- Drill hole GD-24-280: 24.16 g/t AuEq over 7.00 meters in the Bonanza Zone.
- Drill hole GD-25-319: 30.06 g/t AuEq over 4.00 meters in the Golden Gate Zone.
- Drill hole GD-25-405: 21.33 g/t AuEq over 3.75 meters in the Golden Gate Zone.
The fully funded 2026 drill program will focus on expanding the five main mineralized zones. Data compilation and interpretation are underway to vector in on the Motherlode causative intrusive source, aiming to further unlock the potential of this extensive high-grade gold system with widespread visible gold.
