B2Gold Reports Strong 2025 Exploration Results at Back River Gold District in Nunavut
B2Gold's 2025 Back River Exploration Shows Strong Gold Potential

VANCOUVER, British Columbia – B2Gold Corp., a prominent mining company listed on multiple exchanges including TSX and NYSE American, has released highly encouraging results from its comprehensive 2025 exploration program conducted at the Back River Gold District located in Nunavut, Canada. The extensive drilling campaign has successfully validated the substantial resource potential across the entire district while providing crucial data for resource reclassification and enhanced mine planning strategies.

Goose Mine Llama Deposit Achieves Significant Resource Upgrades

The infill drilling operations at the Goose Mine Llama deposit have yielded exceptional results that confirm the continuity of high-grade gold mineralization. These findings are sufficient to upgrade portions of the resource that were previously categorized as Inferred to higher confidence classifications. The drilling program revealed several standout intersections that demonstrate the quality of the deposit.

Notable Drill Hole Results from Llama Deposit

  • Drill hole 25GSE-702 intersected 41.95 grams per tonne gold over an impressive 13.70 meters starting from 218.25 meters depth.
  • Drill hole 25GSE-715Z1 returned 17.95 g/t gold across 38.20 meters from 501.10 meters depth.
  • Drill hole 25GSE-715Z3 showed 10.16 g/t gold over 19.50 meters beginning at 490.60 meters.
  • Drill hole 25GSE-720Z1 revealed 19.74 g/t gold throughout 18.80 meters from 513.60 meters depth.
  • Drill hole 25GSE-721Z2 contained 13.30 g/t gold over 21.85 meters starting at 470.60 meters.
  • Drill hole 25GSE-736Z2 intersected 12.35 g/t gold across 7.90 meters from 413.33 meters depth.

Mining operations are currently active at the Umwelt deposit, which includes both open pit and underground extraction methods. The Llama deposit is strategically scheduled as the next mining target within the current Goose Mine life of mine plan. The existing mineral resource estimates for Llama demonstrate substantial value, with an Indicated Mineral Resource of 3.04 million tonnes grading 7.72 g/t gold for a total of 760,000 ounces of gold. Additionally, the Inferred Mineral Resource stands at 1.79 million tonnes with a grade of 11.00 g/t gold, containing approximately 637,000 ounces of gold.

Nuvuyak Deposit Extends High-Grade Mineralization Zones

Exploration drilling at the Nuvuyak deposit has continued to intersect significant high-grade mineralization approximately 1,000 meters west and down plunge from the Goose Main deposit. One particularly notable result came from drill hole 25GSE700Z2, which returned 6.65 g/t gold over 27.28 meters starting from 1,017.05 meters depth.

This finding demonstrates the continuity of high-grade zones within the Nuvuyak deposit by extending the high-grade gold mineralization approximately 150 meters to the north-northwest. These exploration results highlight the potential to significantly extend the mine life at Goose Mine through the possible addition of the Nuvuyak deposit to the existing life of mine plan.

While mining at Nuvuyak is not currently included in the current Goose Mine life of mine plan, it remains a high-priority target based on drilling results to date. The existing Inferred Mineral Resource estimate for Nuvuyak stands at 2.63 million tonnes grading 8.26 g/t gold, containing approximately 700,000 ounces of gold.

Comprehensive 2025 Exploration Program Overview

B2Gold demonstrated its strong commitment to unlocking the exploration potential of the Back River Gold District through a substantial $32 million total budget allocated for 2025. This investment supported robust near-mine and regional exploration programs that applied advanced in-house geoscience methodologies.

The primary objective of the 2025 program focused on improving deposit knowledge, which represents a critical step in the systematic investigation of both grassroots and near-mine targets. This comprehensive work has successfully contributed to upgrading areas previously classified as Inferred resources to Indicated resources while identifying new zones of mineralization that warrant follow-up exploration.

During the 2025 Back River Gold District exploration program, the company completed 28,599 meters of drilling across 140 diamond drill holes. This included 19,736 meters over 87 drill holes at the Goose Mine and near-mine targets, plus 8,863 meters over 53 drill holes across Back River Gold District regional targets. The Goose Mine and near-mine drill program was supported by a substantial $21 million budget and was strategically prioritized to maximize resource understanding and development potential.
