Two individuals are facing charges related to a shooting incident in Toronto's east end, following a police investigation that led to the seizure of a loaded handgun, ammunition, drugs, and cash. The Toronto Police Service reported that officers responded to reports of gunshots near Kingston Road and Malvern Avenue, east of Main Street, shortly after 3 a.m. on April 30. Although a firearm was discharged, no injuries or property damage were reported.
Search Warrant Leads to Arrests
The investigation by officers from 55 Division resulted in the execution of a search warrant on May 18. During the search, police confiscated a loaded firearm, ammunition, MDMA, crystal meth, and a sum of cash. Two suspects were arrested and charged with multiple offenses.
Joshua Hill, 36, of Toronto, faces 13 charges, including discharging a prohibited firearm, possession of a weapon, possession of a prohibited weapon, and three counts of possession of a firearm while prohibited. Christine Ferreira, 50, also of Toronto, is charged with 10 offenses, including possession of a prohibited weapon, careless storage of a firearm, possession of a firearm with an altered serial number, and two counts of possession of a schedule 1 substance for trafficking.

Richmond Hill Man Wanted in Auto Sales Scheme
A Richmond Hill man is being sought in connection with an auto sales scheme that allegedly targeted Spanish-speaking new Canadians. York Regional Police believe the suspect posed as a licensed vehicle salesman between January and May. He reportedly met victims, showed them vehicles from legitimate dealerships or online ads, obtained their financial information, accepted cash down payments, and then ceased communication.
Investigators suspect the man used industry contacts to facilitate the fraud, including borrowing office space for meetings. A warrant has been issued for Duglas Rodriquez, 49, who is wanted for fraud under $5,000, false pretense, theft under $5,000, and possession of property obtained by crime. Georgetown Man Accused of Sexual Assault
A 28-year-old man is accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl in Georgetown. Halton Regional Police reported that the girl was walking in the area of James and Draper Streets just after 7 p.m. on Monday when a man approached her, began a conversation, and then sexually assaulted her. The suspect, Sankalp Singh, a Georgetown resident, was arrested on Friday and charged with sexual assault, invitation to sexual touching, and sexual interference. The victim did not sustain physical injuries. Burial Monument Stolen from Burlington Cemetery
Halton Regional Police are investigating the theft of a burial monument from Lowville United Church Cemetery in Burlington. The monument, a 4.5-foot-tall angel made of cast resin weighing about 100 pounds, was stolen between May 16 and May 22. Homicide Investigation After Body Found in Hamilton Harbour
Hamilton Police are investigating after a dead body was discovered in the harbour near Wilcox Street North around 8 a.m. on Friday.
