Two Ontario residents have become multi-millionaires after winning big in the Lotto 6/49 Gold Ball Draw. Darlene M., a 63-year-old retiree from Cavan, won $16 million on May 30, 2026, while Bradley V., a 47-year-old financial planner from Peterborough, won $12 million on June 6, 2026.
Retiree from Cavan Wins $16 Million
Darlene M. checked her ticket using the OLG app and immediately told her sister. “I ran inside the house to tell my sister right away,” she told OLG. “I had to make sure what I was seeing was real. I was shocked! It’s hard to wrap my head around this.” She shared the news with her family, who were also in disbelief.
Darlene plans to pay bills, purchase a new truck, help her children buy a home, and support animal welfare initiatives. The winning ticket was purchased at Giant Tiger on Lansdowne Street West in Peterborough.
Peterborough Dad Wins $12 Million
Bradley V., a father of three, discovered his win while checking emails on a Sunday morning. “I logged into my OLG.ca account to investigate further and thought there had to be a mistake,” he said. “I put on my reading glasses and checked the information again. Eventually, I realized it was legitimate and the win was real.”
He showed his children screenshots of the winning ticket, and their mouths dropped open in shock. His mother was also overwhelmed, saying, “I have to pinch myself — I must still be dreaming!” Bradley plans to continue working for now but hopes to retire earlier to spend more time with family. He also wants to buy a new vehicle, possibly an Audi or BMW. The ticket was purchased on OLG.ca.
