Boralex Appoints Jean-Christophe Dall'Ava as New Head of European Operations
Boralex Names New Executive VP and GM for Europe

Canadian renewable energy company Boralex Inc. has announced a significant leadership change for its European division. The company confirmed the appointment of Jean-Christophe Dall'Ava as its new Executive Vice President and General Manager, Europe, effective December 4, 2025.

A Seasoned Leader Takes the Helm

Dall'Ava steps into the role previously held by Nicolas Wolff, who is departing the company. His mandate is to steer the continued expansion and development of Boralex's activities across the European continent. With nearly two decades of experience in the renewable energy sector, both in France and internationally, Dall'Ava is no stranger to Boralex or its ambitions.

He first joined the company in 2014, where he spent his initial four years driving growth through strategic mergers and acquisitions. His leadership was later pivotal in guiding the development teams. In 2019, he established Boralex's commercialization department and was instrumental in crafting the company's European strategy, notably positioning Boralex as an early leader in the French power purchase agreement (PPA) market.

Vision for Europe's Renewable Future

In his statement, Jean-Christophe Dall'Ava expressed gratitude to his predecessor and outlined his focus. "I am proud to take over today, driven by the ambition to continue implementing our 2030 Strategic Plan," he said. He highlighted Boralex's strengths: a solid base of operating assets, a growing project pipeline, and dedicated teams. "Together, we will keep innovating, creating value, and fulfilling our mission: delivering renewable, affordable energy for all," Dall'Ava added.

Patrick Decostre, President and Chief Executive Officer of Boralex, offered his congratulations. "His deep knowledge of our business, his strategic vision, and his passion for our mission are invaluable assets for driving our growth," Decostre stated, expressing confidence in Dall'Ava's unifying leadership to open new opportunities in Europe.

Strategic Mandate and Industry Recognition

Dall'Ava's appointment aligns directly with Boralex's broader corporate strategy. His key objectives in Europe will include:

  • Strengthening an integrated and diversified industrial model to deliver competitive, customer-tailored renewable energy.
  • Reinforcing Boralex's market leadership in France while building a sustainable growth platform in the United Kingdom.
  • Fostering a safe, inclusive, and responsible organization committed to a net-zero trajectory by 2050.

Beyond his corporate role, Dall'Ava serves as a board member of the Syndicat des Énergies Renouvelables (SER), France's renewable energy union, combining deep industry expertise with a strong grasp of electricity markets. The company notes that he embodies core Boralex values: respect, communication, teamwork, creativity, and entrepreneurship.

This leadership transition marks a new chapter for Boralex as it seeks to solidify and expand its footprint in the dynamic European renewable energy sector, leveraging internal talent and proven experience to execute its long-term strategic goals.
