The Fédération des Entreprises Monégasques (FEDEM) has announced the strategic appointment of Bernard d'Alessandri as the new President of the Chambre Monégasque du Yachting. This significant leadership change positions one of Monaco's most experienced yachting figures at the helm of the official body representing yachting sector companies to Monaco Government authorities.

A Visionary Leader for Monaco's Yachting Future

Bernard d'Alessandri brings decades of expertise to his new role, having served as General Secretary and Managing Director of the Yacht Club de Monaco since 1990. In his first statement as president, d'Alessandri emphasized that "My commitments have always been guided by my passion for the sea and yachting. Through this new position, I hope my experience can benefit a sector which is Monaco's strength and sets it apart."

The appointment signals Monaco's continued commitment to maintaining its position as a global yachting hub. D'Alessandri further noted that "The Principality occupies a unique place in the yachting world as a model of excellence, innovation and sustainability that we live and breathe each day at the Yacht Club de Monaco."

Economic Impact and Strategic Importance

The yachting sector represents a crucial component of Monaco's economy, generating nearly 600 million euros in annual revenues and employing approximately 1,500 skilled professionals, according to 2022 statistics from the Institut Monégasque de la Statistique et des Études Économiques.

FEDEM President Philippe Ortelli underscored the sector's significance, stating: "Yachting represents a strategic economic activity for the Principality. It is therefore essential that the sector is fully represented in FEDEM to defend its interests, promote its values and support sustainable development."

Building on a Legacy of Maritime Excellence

D'Alessandri's extensive experience includes creating and developing several iconic yachting events that have cemented Monaco's reputation as a maritime innovation leader. His accomplishments include:

  • Founding Monaco Classic Week-La Belle Classe
  • Establishing the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge
  • Developing the Superyacht Eco Association (SEA Index)

Additionally, d'Alessandri currently chairs the Cluster Yachting Monaco, which federates over one hundred companies in the sector, and leads the 'Monaco, Capital of Yachting' commission responsible for economic development and strategic planning.

The appointment strengthens the momentum behind the 'Monaco, Capital of Advanced Yachting' initiative, positioning the Chambre Monégasque du Yachting at the center of both economic and sustainable development efforts. Under d'Alessandri's leadership, Monaco continues to establish itself as a global platform of excellence, innovation, and responsibility serving the future of yachting worldwide.

Established in 1945, FEDEM federates and represents all professional trade associations in Monaco, acting as a crucial interface between economic stakeholders and public authorities while promoting the development and competitiveness of the Principality's business community.
