Man charged with drug trafficking after speeding stop in N.S.

Nova Scotia RCMP have charged a 23-year-old man with drug trafficking after a traffic stop for speeding in the province. The incident occurred on Wednesday when an officer pulled over a vehicle for exceeding the speed limit on Highway 104 near Antigonish.

Traffic stop leads to drug seizure

During the stop, the officer observed signs of drug activity and conducted a search of the vehicle. Police allege they found a quantity of cocaine, a significant amount of cash, and a weapon. The driver, a man from New Glasgow, was arrested at the scene.

Charges laid

The man faces charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime, and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace. He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
