Ontario Provincial Police have charged both drivers involved in a head-on collision in Petawawa, Ont., with impaired driving. The crash occurred on July 5, 2026, on Highway 17 near Petawawa Boulevard.

Police responded to the scene around 11:30 p.m. after reports of a two-vehicle collision. Investigation revealed that both drivers had been consuming alcohol prior to the crash. Neither driver sustained life-threatening injuries, but both were transported to hospital for treatment.
According to OPP, a 42-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman were each charged with operation while impaired and operation while exceeding the legal blood alcohol concentration. Their names have not been released pending court appearances.
