(NASDAQ: POET), a designer and developer of Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs), light sources, and optical modules for the AI and data center markets, reported the voting results of its Annual General Meeting (AGM) held virtually on June 26, 2026. The company also recapped highlights from Chairman and CEO Dr. Suresh Venkatesan's presentation on commercial activities.

Production Ramp and Capacity Expansion

Dr. Venkatesan reiterated that the company's production ramp is on schedule, with volume shipments of optical engines to customers expected to begin in the second half of 2026. POET anticipates expanding capacity to meet demand of up to 1 million units per month by the end of 2027, representing a more than tenfold increase from current production capacity.

Financial Strength and Strategic Investments

After raising $830 million in equity capital in the past 12 months, with potential for an additional $661 million through warrants, the company plans an initial deployment of approximately $50 million for capital equipment in the second half of 2026. The strengthened balance sheet supports efforts to secure critical components through long-term strategic partnerships with key suppliers, mitigating potential material shortages.
