GreenShield Opens New Toronto Office, Unites 700 Employees

GreenShield, Canada's only national non-profit health care and insurance organization, officially opened its new downtown Toronto office on June 25, 2026. The organization has leased the entire five-storey Commerce Court South building, creating a workspace for over 700 Toronto-area employees.

Bringing Together Teams from Nine Acquisitions

Founded in Windsor in 1957, where its head office remains, GreenShield has expanded its presence across Canada. The new Toronto office consolidates employees from nine acquisitions completed over the past few years. President and CEO Zahid Salman stated, "This new Toronto space allows us to bring together many GTA teams from the nine acquisitions we’ve completed over the past few years and thereby better integrate our services for the benefit of our clients. It also helps us to collaborate more effectively, innovate faster, and deliver better health outcomes for Canadians."

Purpose-Built Workspace Features

The office includes collaborative workspaces, flexible meeting areas, quiet rooms, wellness spaces, and technology-enabled environments. Highlights include over 110 meeting and collaboration areas, dedicated wellness spaces, and a Health Hub with prayer, lactation, and first aid rooms. The location connects directly to Union Station and the PATH network, improving accessibility for employees, clients, and partners.

The organization's 2025 Impact Report, released last month, emphasizes expanding access to care, advancing health equity, and improving outcomes for Canadians. Salman added, "This new Toronto office reflects that purpose in action, creating a space where teams can come together to better deliver on its mission of Better Health for All."
