Two Hamilton Men Charged in Drug Bust with Fentanyl and Gun

Two Hamilton men are facing multiple charges after a drug bust at a residence led to the seizure of a significant quantity of illegal drugs, a loaded firearm, and cash. The investigation by Hamilton Police resulted in a search warrant being executed at a home on Bonaventure Drive.

Drug Bust Details

Police seized approximately 128 grams of fentanyl, 200 Dilaudid pills, a loaded firearm equipped with an auto sear device, a crossbow, and $2,505 in Canadian currency. The total street value of the drugs is estimated at $32,000.

Two men, aged 20 and 57, are accused of possession of fentanyl and opioids for the purpose of trafficking, as well as possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000. The 20-year-old also faces two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon, and one count each of possession of a loaded/unloaded prohibited firearm and knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm.

Stolen Bike Recoveries

South Simcoe Police recovered three stolen bikes in two hours on Thursday. In one instance, officers on patrol located a male riding a bicycle matching the description of one stolen earlier that morning. A 53-year-old Brampton man was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime.

While arresting that individual, another male rode past on a bicycle reported stolen earlier in the week. A 55-year-old man with no fixed address was arrested and charged similarly. Both bicycles were returned to their owners, including a young teen who had saved money to buy and accessorize his bike.

Later, at approximately 5 p.m., officers conducting a Bike Rodeo event at a Canadian Tire observed a male riding a bicycle through the parking lot carrying a large duffel bag. The individual matched the description of a suspect wanted on outstanding warrants held by York Regional Police and North Bay Police Service. A 58-year-old Bradford man was arrested on those warrants.

Missing Person: Chance Kay

Ontario Provincial Police continue to seek information about Chance Kay, 35, of Muskoka Lakes, who has been missing since March 2024. He was last seen leaving a motel on Highway 11 South in Gravenhurst. Kay is described as 5-foot-6 with long dark hair and multiple visible tattoos, last seen wearing ripped blue jeans, a black long-sleeve shirt with a white logo, and a True Religion baseball cap. Warrant for Delroy Apple

Durham Regional Police are searching for Delroy Apple, 47, wanted on a warrant of committal in Whitby. He was last seen Thursday evening at Ontario Shores on Gordon Street. Apple is described as Black, 5-foot-6, with short dark hair, a medium build, wearing a white shirt, grey pants, and multi-coloured shoes. Hamilton Break-In

Hamilton Police are investigating a break-in on East 8th Street early Friday. Three masked male suspects arrived, two forced entry through the front door, and a struggle occurred with the homeowner. They stole a safe and valuables, fleeing in a black SUV driven by the third suspect. Suspects are described as Black males with thin builds, wearing black clothing, masks, and gloves. Careless Driving Charge

A 48-year-old Richmond Hill man faces charges of careless driving causing bodily harm or death after a collision in Toronto on Wednesday. Police allege the driver of a red Ford F250 lost control on Bathurst Street, struck a wooden telephone pole, and then hit three pedestrians. A two-year-old boy and a 32-year-old man were seriously injured; a 30-year-old woman was unharmed. The driver remained on scene with minor injuries. Fatal Collision in North York

Toronto Police are investigating a single-vehicle fatal collision in North York on Thursday. A 90-year-old man driving a silver Nissan southbound on Bathurst Street lost control and struck a tree. He was taken to Sunnybrook Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Anyone with dash camera footage is asked to contact police at 416-808-1900.
