The fair is organized by the Leamington District Agricultural Society, a non-profit group that has operated since 1848 through volunteer community support. Run by a board of directors, the society promotes agricultural education and awareness, hosting the fair each May along with other community programming. This year marked the 178th edition of the event, making it one of the region's longest-running agricultural traditions.
Family Highlights
A trip through the barn was a highlight for 3-year-old Kyrra Kudroch and her grandmother Sanja Roach, who spent the day exploring the grounds together. “It’s her second time at the fair,” Roach said. “We thought it would be perfect for a little date together.” The pair moved through agricultural exhibits at a relaxed pace, stopping to watch the animals. For Kyrra, the livestock displays held her attention throughout their outing. “We’re really enjoying ourselves,” Roach added.
Children lined up for rides and games, including the towering Cannon Ball attraction that lifts riders high before a fast, sudden drop. Seven-year-old Ethan Duran was all smiles on the ride. Families also explored agricultural displays showcasing farming practices, machinery, and livestock. The four-day event featured live entertainment, a ventriloquist show, and a demolition derby over the weekend.
Community Engagement
Mohamad Ali, 9, sat atop a tractor on display, while Cynthia and Layton Bennze tried their hand at rope-making during a hands-on demonstration.
