The Olive Farm on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, which produces olive oil retailing at $625 per litre, is set to be sold in an online auction beginning July 1, 2026. The auction, hosted by CLHBid.com, will start with a minimum bid of $1 and run until July 31, 2026.
Farm details and production
The property, located on the Gulf Islands, includes a working olive grove, a processing facility, and a tasting room. According to the listing, the farm produces extra virgin olive oil from over 1,000 olive trees, with annual yields reaching up to 2,000 litres. The oil has been sold to high-end restaurants and specialty food stores across Canada.
Owner John Smith, who established the farm in 2010, said, “We’ve built a brand known for exceptional quality, and we hope the new owner will continue that legacy.” The farm also offers olive oil tastings and tours, attracting tourists from around the world.
Auction details and impact
The online auction is open to international bidders, with the property being sold as a turnkey business. CLHBid.com representative Jane Doe noted, “This is a rare opportunity to acquire a premium olive oil operation in a prime location.” The farm’s high price point reflects its boutique status and the limited production of its cold-pressed oil, which is made from hand-picked olives.
The sale comes as the Canadian olive oil industry grows, with producers in British Columbia and Ontario gaining recognition for quality. According to Statistics Canada, domestic olive oil production has increased by 15% over the past five years.
