The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed 2025 second-round draft pick Tinus Luc Koblar to a three-year entry-level contract, the team announced Monday. The 18-year-old Norwegian centre impressed during the 2025-26 season with strong performances internationally and in the Swedish Hockey League.
International Success
Koblar led Norway in scoring at the IIHF World Championship in Switzerland with nine points (six goals, three assists) in 10 games, helping his team secure a bronze medal after an upset overtime victory against Canada. Earlier, at the U20 world championship Division 1 Group A tournament in December, he recorded 10 points in five games and was named the top forward as Norway won promotion to the 2027 world junior championship in Edmonton and Red Deer.
SHL Performance
Playing for Leksands IF in the Swedish Hockey League, the 6-foot-3, 198-pound centre tallied eight goals and six assists in 47 games. He adapted well to the pace of professional men's hockey and made significant strides defensively.
Scouting Outlook
Leafs director of amateur scouting Mark Leach praised Koblar's development at the NHL scouting combine in Buffalo: "Tinus is going to have another good year next year. Where does he end up? We'll see what happens."
Koblar's progress provides a boost to Toronto's prospect pool, which also features players competing in the Calder Cup final with the Toronto Marlies, including defenseman Ben Danford, goalie Artur Akhtyamov, and forwards Luke Haymes and Ryan Tverberg.
