Ward 3 Councillor Renaldo Agostino emphasized the value of such initiatives, stating, "Anything and everything that brings people together, especially in our downtown core, is worth it. At the Treehouse Bar and Grill, owner Vilma Collins observed that while the Olympics had not yet significantly increased foot traffic, the upcoming hockey finals are expected to change that. "Whenever it comes towards the end of a leg and there's a lot of hype and a lot of noise about a game, everybody's just looking for somewhere to go watch it and you feel that excitement with the crowd," Collins explained, anticipating a surge in business during key matches.
