Hollywood Owners Take on Unprecedented Broadcasting Role for Welsh Derby
In a unique celebration of their fifth anniversary as co-chairmen of Wrexham Football Club, Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac are trading the owners' box for the broadcast booth. The Hollywood duo will provide live commentary alongside Sky Sports presenter David Prutton during Wrexham's highly anticipated match against Swansea City on March 13.
A First-Time Broadcasting Experience
The special broadcast, titled Live from Wrexham with Rob & Ryan, will air on both Sky Sports and Paramount+ at 1 p.m. from Wrexham's historic STōK Cae Ras stadium, also known as the Racecourse Ground. This marks the first time either Reynolds or Mac has attempted live sports commentary of any kind.
"Neither of us have called a sporting event of any variety, let alone a sport we basically learned the rules of five years ago," admitted the co-chairs in a joint statement. "Either way, it will be another unpredictable day at the Racecourse and we can't wait."

According to official statements, the broadcast promises to blend "sport, entertainment and documentary-style insider access in real time" while being "driven by humour, candour and behind-the-scenes insight." The pair humorously added that they hope Sky Sports is "ready with the bleep button" for their unfiltered commentary.
The broadcast represents another milestone in Reynolds and Mac's remarkable journey with Wrexham AFC. Since purchasing the then-fifth-tier club in February 2021, their ownership has transformed the team's fortunes, achieving three consecutive promotions and securing a place in the EFL Championship for the first time in 43 years.
