Nick Tetz Makes History with Sixth Consecutive PBR Canada Cup Victory
Calgary's Nick Tetz continued his unstoppable bull riding form this past weekend in Lethbridge, Alberta, delivering a flawless 2-for-2 performance to secure his historic sixth consecutive PBR Canada Cup Series event win. The victory came at the sold-out, record-setting South Country Co-op Showdown inside VisitLethbridge.com Arena, further cementing Tetz's dominance in the sport.
Flawless Performance in Lethbridge
Tetz got off to a strong start in Round 1, covering Counting Sheep from Vold Rodeo for 85.7 points, earning the second-best score of the round. Maintaining his momentum, the Albertan phenom then bested Linebacker from Skori Bucking Bulls for 85.8 points in Round 2, punching his ticket to the championship round as the event leader.
With the first pick in the championship round draft, the two-time PBR Canada Champion selected Pyper from Foley Bucking Bulls. This strategic decision paid off handsomely as Tetz made the requisite 8-second ride with ease, scoring an event-best 89.9 points to cement his victory.
Additional Success in 5/5 Bucking Battle
On Friday night, Tetz also competed in the tour stop's accompanying 5/5 Bucking Battle, where he topped Night Fury from Skori Bucking Bulls for 84.6 points to finish third in the special round. This additional performance showcased his versatility and consistency across different competition formats.
Dominant Streak Continues
Tetz has now won every PBR Canada event in Lethbridge since 2022 and maintains a perfect 10-for-10 record in Canada since the 2026 season began. Leaving Lethbridge with 158.5 national points, Tetz extended his lead atop the national standings as he chases his record-tying third PBR Canada Championship this November. He now leads No. 2 Cody Coverchuk from Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan by 352 points.
Other Standout Performances
Griffin Koester from Rockyford, Alberta delivered an impressive 3-for-3 showing to finish second, collecting 92 national points. His efforts included rides on Kish Me Again from Wilson Rodeo (83.6 points), Woozy from Foley Bucking Bulls (81.5 points), and Shockazoola from W Sunrise (86.8 points). Koester surged from No. 19 to No. 4 in the national standings, now trailing Tetz by 369.5 points.
Garrett Green from Meeting Creek, Alberta finished third as the final rider to cover all his animal athlete opponents at the two-day event. Green advanced to the championship round with an 82.1-point ride on Slingin Stones from Lazy P Rodeo in Round 1 and a 55-point ride on Nasty Panda from Foley Bucking Bulls in Round 2. In the championship round, he selected Magic Jam from Vold Rodeo, making the whistle for 84.5 points, though it wasn't enough to secure the win.
The historic victory solidifies Nick Tetz's position as one of Canada's most dominant bull riders, with his eyes firmly set on a third PBR Canada Championship later this year.
