"I focus on where I am," Kadri stated emphatically during a recent media availability at the Scotiabank Saddledome. "I'm not a one foot out the door kind of guy. Wherever I am, I exert my full energy and give it 100%. I try not to let it affect me too much."
The 35-year-old Stanley Cup champion, who has established himself as the Flames' top point-producer, acknowledged the human element of trade rumors while reinforcing his dedication. "We're all human, in that sense, but I'm a Calgary Flame and my dedication is to here for now," Kadri affirmed.
Complex Contract Situation Adds Uncertainty

"In a Canadian market, that's going to be out there all the time," Huska acknowledged. "What we do is try to live in the day and that's the important thing, but we also have conversations with them."

"If there is a day where they're hearing a lot of it, I would hope they'd come in and have conversations about it because both myself and GM Craig Conroy are very upfront with them," the coach explained.
"A lot of times what you forget about is not necessarily the player, because they understand the business side of things," Huska continued. "It may be their wife, it may be their girlfriend, that they start to stress out about having to find a new place for kids to go to school before things happen. That impacts the player, as well. There's a lot that goes on."
