"We never wavered off of that. We feel good about Dru, and we're going to build the future to make sure that it's advantageous for him to win football games."
This decisive statement comes roughly four months before training camp opens and follows a period of evaluation by the new head coach, who was non-committal on the quarterback position during his introductory press conference in November 2025.

"I think Dru is a good player. I'm very comfortable with Dru. I think he's a capable guy," Dinwiddie elaborated. "I think we've got to keep him protected. When he's in the pocket and he's protected, I think he's one of the best in the league."
