Roughnecks Finalize Roster for New NLL Campaign

The Calgary Roughnecks are officially set for the upcoming 2025-26 National Lacrosse League season, having revealed their final squad this week. The organization confirmed a 21-player active roster alongside its practice squad, signaling the start of a fresh campaign.

Team Composition Earns Management Praise

General Manager Mike Board expressed strong confidence in the assembled group. "We like the make-up of the team," Board stated. "There is a good mixture of skill, size, speed and athleticism. There's a blend of veterans and young players, a combination that provides a high compete level throughout the line-up." He highlighted that players on both offense and defense are prepared to take on expanded responsibilities this year.

The active roster is structured with seven forwards, twelve defenders, and two goaltenders.

Forwards: Tanner Cook, Mathieu Gautier, Riley Loewen, Brayden Mayea, Haiden Dickson, Noah Manning, Tyler Pace.

The Riggers launch their 2025-26 NLL campaign on the road, starting with a clash against the Saskatchewan Rush in Saskatoon on Saturday, December 6. Their second game is an away match against the Toronto Rock on December 13.

Fans at the Scotiabank Saddledome will get their first look at the team on Sunday, December 28, when the Roughnecks host the defending champion Buffalo Bandits for their home opener. This marquee event is designated as 'Return of the Red' night, presented by Dairy Farmers of Canada.
