PGA Tour golfer Michael Brennan created a stir on Thursday at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans by playing shirtless for a moment, revealing his chiseled physique and prompting a wave of online admiration and humorous comments.
The PGA Tour shared a clip on X with the caption, 'Tarps off in New Orleans ?' The video quickly went viral, drawing reactions from fans and commentators alike.
'Someone has been doing abs all winter and wanted it to be known,' one observer wrote on X. 'I'm just looking at his muscles,' another added. 'He should've twirled his shirt over his head,' someone else cracked.
Brennan went topless presumably to keep his jersey clean and dry when his ball landed near the water's edge on the 18th hole. However, his shot attempt mostly caught water and mud as the ball dropped into the drink. He used the moment to subtly strike a pose or two.
'Keep flexing,' a commentator said in the clip shared by the PGA Tour. 'Keep flexing 'em.'
No shirt, no good shot. Brennan tried to hit the ball out of the shallow water, but it dropped back in the drink.
Brennan and his partner Johnny Keefer finished the first day with an 11-under-61 in the team tournament. 'Yeah, it was fun,' Brennan said of his shirtless adventure, according to pgatour.com.
The 24-year-old golfer, who turned pro in 2024, won the Bank of Utah Championship in 2025 for his only tour victory. Now he has also earned a bit of viral fame.
