Sabalenka headlines 96-player field for NBO Toronto

World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus headlines the 96-player entry list for the 2026 National Bank Open women's tournament in Toronto, Tennis Canada announced Wednesday.

Star-studded field confirmed

The tournament, scheduled for August 3-10 at Sobeys Stadium, will feature 11 of the top 12 players in the WTA rankings, including defending champion Danielle Collins of the United States and 2023 winner Jessica Pegula. Other top entrants include Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff, Elena Rybakina, and Ons Jabeur.

Canadian players expected to compete include Bianca Andreescu, Leylah Fernandez, and Rebecca Marino. Andreescu won the title in 2019.

Qualifying and wild cards

The 96-player main draw includes direct entries based on rankings as of July 1, with additional spots awarded through qualifying and wild cards. Qualifying rounds will be held August 1-2.

“We are thrilled to welcome such a strong field to Toronto,” said Karl Hale, tournament director. “Fans will see the best players in the world compete for the title.”

Event details

The NBO Toronto is one of nine WTA 1000 events on the calendar. The men's tournament will be held concurrently in Montreal. Tickets are on sale now.
