CNN's chief data analyst Harry Enten on Tuesday highlighted the "complete collapse" that Donald Trump has suffered among Republicans on one key issue.
Inflation Approval Plummets
Trump's net approval rating among Republicans on inflation when he was running for president in 2024 stood at +68 points, Enten said on Tuesday's broadcast of "News Central." But now it's sunk to astonishing -5 points. That's a gigantic 73-point swing.
"Look at this! Look at this! Collapse!" Enten pointed out. "And this is not voters overall, let me remind you," he continued. "This is Republican voters. That call absolutely coming from inside the house. On the key issue of inflation, there are now multiple polls showing that Donald John Trump is underwater within his own Republican Party."
Gas Prices Also a Concern
The president is faring almost as badly with his own party on the issue of fuel and gas prices, which have spiraled in recent weeks in part due to his Iran war, said Enten. Trump's net approval among Republicans on gas prices is currently -4 points. That's down 55 points from June 2025, when it stood at +51.
"This is a huge shift," said Enten.
