Windsor's Downtown Mission has announced a new series of public meetings aimed at strengthening community connections and increasing awareness of its programs and services. The initiative, called Meet the Mission, was launched Wednesday morning at the Downtown Windsor BIA office.
Goals of the Outreach Series
The primary objective of this series is to make the Mission's services more accessible to those in need and to foster open dialogue about poverty, homelessness, and the increasing demand for support in the region. According to the organization, the series comes at a critical time when community connection and understanding of local support services are more important than ever.
Schedule of Events
The Mission has scheduled five sessions, each beginning at 6 p.m., hosted at community churches across Windsor:
- May 19 at Glenwood United Church (1825 Grand Marais Rd. W.)
- May 25 at Roseland Trinity United Church (3919 Howard Ave.)
- June 1 at Tecumseh United Church (333 Lacasse Blvd.)
- June 11 at Riverside United Church (881 Glidden Ave.)
- June 16 at Emmanuel United Church (1728 Lincoln Rd.)
Opportunities for Engagement
Officials will be present at each event to answer questions, gather feedback, and discuss ways residents can get involved, including through volunteering, donations, or community partnerships. The Mission emphasized that this initiative reflects its ongoing commitment to education, transparency, and community connection across Windsor.
