Lakeshore Crash Leads to Impaired Driving Charge

Members of the Essex detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police have laid charges against one individual following a three-vehicle collision that occurred in the Municipality of Lakeshore.

Shortly after 10 a.m. on May 9, police responded to the incident on County Road 22 near I.C. Roy Drive. Upon arrival, officers conducted an investigation that led to the arrest of a suspect from Belle River.

The accused has been charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs. In addition to the criminal charge, a 90-day Administrative Driver's License Suspension was issued, and the vehicle involved was impounded for seven days.

The individual is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on July 2 to answer to the charges.

The OPP has reiterated its commitment to enforcing impaired driving laws to ensure the safety of all road users. Authorities urge anyone who suspects a driver is impaired by alcohol or drugs to call 9-1-1 immediately for urgent traffic complaints.
