The City of Barrie has released its schedule of services affected during the Victoria Day long weekend, which runs from Saturday, May 16, to Monday, May 18, 2026. Residents and visitors should plan accordingly for changes to municipal services, transit, and parking.

City Hall and Administrative Offices

All city administrative offices, including City Hall, will be closed on Monday, May 18. Regular hours resume on Tuesday, May 19.

Transit Services

Barrie Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule on Monday, May 18. No service will run on Saturday, May 16, or Sunday, May 17, due to the holiday weekend. Riders are advised to check the transit website for specific route times.

Parking and Enforcement

Parking meters will not be enforced on Monday, May 18. However, all other parking regulations, including time limits and no-parking zones, remain in effect. The city reminds drivers to obey signs to avoid fines.
