One person was critically injured in a shooting in Brampton on Sunday afternoon, according to Peel Regional Police. Officers responded to reports of gunfire in the Earlsbridge Boulevard and Edenbrook Hill Drive area at approximately 3:40 p.m. Paramedics transported one patient to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police said two suspects, both dressed in black clothing, fled the scene on foot. No additional suspect descriptions were immediately available. The investigation is ongoing.
Boy on bike struck in Etobicoke
In a separate incident, a young cyclist was sent to hospital after being struck by a vehicle in Etobicoke on Sunday afternoon. Toronto Police said the collision occurred around 3 p.m. in the Islington Avenue and Bloor Street West area. The boy sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver remained at the scene, and no charges have been reported.
School bus crash near Barrie
A school bus carrying children to summer camp was involved in a collision on Highway 11 just north of Barrie on Sunday afternoon. Ontario Provincial Police said the bus, which also carried adult passengers, collided with an SUV at about 1:45 p.m. in the northbound lanes near Line 3 South in Oro-Medonte. Police reported a few minor injuries but no hospitalizations. Drivers were charged accordingly, police added.
Serious crash in Burlington
One person was hospitalized with serious injuries after a single-vehicle minivan crash in Burlington on Sunday afternoon. Halton Regional Police responded at 12:40 p.m. to the incident on North Service Road east of Brant Street. The occupant of the white minivan was transported to an out-of-region trauma centre. No other injuries were reported, and the cause remains under investigation.
