An Abbotsford man has been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting at a homeless encampment in March, according to authorities. The incident, which occurred in the early hours of March 15, left one person injured.
Details of the Arrest
The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Michael Tran, was taken into custody on June 14 without incident. He faces charges of aggravated assault and discharging a firearm with intent. Police say the shooting stemmed from a dispute among individuals at the encampment located near Gladwin Road and Old Yale Road.
Victim's Condition
The victim, a 42-year-old man, was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He has since been released and is recovering. Authorities have not released his name.

Local advocates for the homeless expressed concern over the incident, calling for increased safety measures at encampments.
