Windsor Police Hunt Two Suspects After Vehicle Theft and Break-In

Windsor police are actively searching for two suspects who remain at large following a series of criminal incidents involving vehicle theft and an attempted break-in. This development comes after authorities arrested a third individual connected to the case.

Surveillance Footage Captures Early Morning Theft

The investigation began on March 8, just after 3 a.m., when surveillance cameras captured two suspects stealing a 2017 Dodge Charger from a residential driveway in the 2300 block of Meldrum Road. The vehicle was taken without permission, marking the start of a criminal spree that would unfold over several hours.

Escalation to Business Property Break-In

Several hours after the initial theft, police reported that the two suspects, now accompanied by a third person, drove the stolen Charger to a business located in the 2000 block of Riverside Drive East. At this location, the individuals used bolt cutters to create a hole in the fence surrounding the property, gaining unauthorized access to the premises.

One suspect entered the yard and attempted to break into a tractor trailer parked on the property. However, their activities were interrupted when a security guard spotted them, prompting the suspect to flee the scene in the stolen Dodge Charger.

Arrest of One Suspect

Officers from the Windsor Police Service target base unit successfully identified one of the suspects involved in these incidents. On March 11, a 46-year-old man was arrested in the 800 block of Ouellette Avenue.

The arrested individual faces multiple charges, including:

  • Break-and-enter
  • Theft of a motor vehicle
  • Wearing a disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence
  • Possession of break-in instruments
  • Failure to comply with a release order

Descriptions of Remaining Suspects

While one suspect is now in custody, two additional individuals remain at large and are actively being sought by authorities.

The first suspect is described as a white male with a large build. He was last seen wearing a black ski mask, grey hoodie, red T-shirt, dark brown pants, and black Nike shoes with distinctive white soles.

The second suspect is described as a white female with a slender build. She was wearing a black jacket with the hood up, black pants, light-colored socks, and a scarf at the time of the incidents.

Vehicle Recovery and Investigation Continues

Police have confirmed that the stolen Dodge Charger has been recovered and returned to its rightful owner. However, the investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to locate the two remaining suspects.
