According to police reports, the man lured the woman to a residence, where he administered an unknown substance that rendered her unconscious. Upon regaining consciousness, the woman discovered she had been sexually assaulted. When she attempted to flee, the suspect allegedly restrained her forcibly on a bed, stole her money and cellphone, and then barricaded the bedroom door by screwing it shut from the outside.

Escape and Police Response

A passerby heard the woman struggling and assisted in her escape, prompting immediate police action. The Windsor Police Emergency Services Unit, along with other officers, established a containment perimeter around the house. The suspect was later located hiding in the attic, where he refused to exit for several hours.

Resolution of the Standoff

The standoff persisted for eight hours before the suspect eventually surrendered to authorities. He was taken into custody without further incident. The 50-year-old man now faces multiple charges, including sexual assault, forcible confinement, robbery, and administering a noxious substance.
