Toronto Police Launch Manhunt for Break-and-Enter Suspect
Toronto Police have issued a public appeal for information regarding a man wanted in connection with a break-and-enter incident that occurred last Friday. The crime took place in the Broadview Avenue and Danforth Avenue area, where the suspect allegedly broke into an apartment building around 4 a.m. and stole several items.
Details of the Suspect and Charges
Investigators have identified the suspect as Corey Ramsey, 39, who is currently of no fixed address. Ramsey is facing multiple serious charges, including:
- Two counts of breach of probation
- Failure to comply with a release order
- Two counts of breaking-and-entering
- Break-and-enter non-dwelling with intent
Police report that Ramsey also gained unauthorized access to storage lockers located in the building's underground parking facility during the incident.

Ajax High School Student Arrested with Firearm and Drugs
In a separate but equally concerning development, Durham Regional Police have arrested a 17-year-old male student at Father Donald Maclellan Catholic Secondary School in Ajax. The arrest occurred on Tuesday morning after police received information suggesting a student might be in possession of a firearm.
School Safety Incident Unfolds
Officers responded to the school at approximately 10:55 a.m. and located the teenager without incident. During the arrest, police discovered that the youth was allegedly carrying:
- A firearm equipped with a prohibited extended magazine
- Various controlled substances
Disturbingly, the teen was already subject to a weapons prohibition order at the time of his arrest, adding gravity to the charges he now faces.
Legal Proceedings and Charges
The youth, whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with multiple offenses including:
- Carrying a concealed weapon
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited device
- Failure to comply with a release order
Following his arrest, the teenager was held for a bail hearing and subsequently remanded to a youth detention facility. Additional Firearms-Related Arrests in the Region
The day's law enforcement activities extended beyond these two incidents. Toronto Police also executed search warrants at residences in Mississauga and downtown Toronto, resulting in the arrest of two individuals on firearms and drug-related charges.
Mubarak Rirash, 37, of Mississauga, faces multiple charges including possession of a firearm and ammunition contrary to a prohibition order. Notably, Rirash is subject to a lifetime weapons ban. Abadir Jimale, 41, of Toronto, was also arrested and charged with drug possession, firearm-related offenses, and possession of proceeds of crime exceeding $5,000.
These coordinated police actions underscore ongoing efforts to address weapons-related crimes in the Greater Toronto Area, with authorities emphasizing community cooperation in maintaining public safety.
