Calgary police have made arrests and filed charges against three teenagers in connection with a stabbing and robbery that occurred earlier this week in the northeast community of Westwinds. The incident, which took place near the McKnight-Westwinds CTrain station, has prompted strong statements from law enforcement regarding youth violence.

Details of the Assault and Robbery

Officers responded to reports of an assault on a man at approximately 9 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2026. Upon arrival, they found a victim suffering from injuries consistent with stab wounds. Investigators believe the man was assaulted after a brief interaction with three teenage boys, who then stole his cell phone and fled the area.

The victim was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to the Calgary Police Service. Police were able to track down three individuals matching the description of the suspects a few blocks away from the scene of the crime.

Charges and Court Appearances

The accused include Tristan Lucas, an 18-year-old from Calgary, who remains in custody and faces one count of aggravated assault and one count of robbery. He is scheduled to appear in court on Friday. Additionally, a 16-year-old has been charged with one count of robbery and is due in court on Thursday, while a 14-year-old, who has been released from custody, faces a robbery charge and is set to appear in court on Wednesday.

Under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the names of the younger accused cannot be disclosed to the public.

"It’s deeply disturbing to see young members of the community engaged in such violent behaviour," said CPS Staff Sgt. Mike Saad in a statement. "Thankfully, our members were able to respond quickly and locate the offenders to hold them accountable."
